MOVEMENT SERVICING AND REPAIR
The majority of our work with watches is the servicing and cleaning of movements. Old oil, dirt and dust are often the reason an old watch refuses to run or keeps poor time.
After thorough cleaning, and a detailed inspection, the movement is repaired where necessary and fresh lubrication applied. Each watch goes through a rigorous test period to ensure the highest standards of work.
We are British Horological Institute Accredited and James is a Fellow of the Institute, the highest level of recognition. We are also a member of the British Watch and Clockmakers Guild.
VINTAGE WATCH SPECIALIST
We specialise in both wrist and pocket watches from the 20th century; this includes watches from companies who no longer exist or from those who no longer repair old watches.
We work on all types of watches including chronographs, calendars and ‘bumper’ watches.
We keep a large stock of vintage watch parts and can source many more, or even manufacture parts if required. Often we repair watches which have been declared ‘unfixable’ by others. We work on many different brands including Universal Geneve and Omega.

We take a considered, methodical approach to our work and always keep the best interest of the object in mind. Our work is informed by our experience working on museum objects
The result is a watch which runs to a high standard while retaining its integrity as an object with history. It is important to us that character gained over decades of use is not removed.
Component Manufacture
Even when factory-made parts are no longer available, we have the capability to make an manufacture replacement components to fully repair your watch.
We are able to make a wide range of components for both watches and clocks.
BESPOKE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE
We have the ability and equipment to design and manufacture a range of parts, whether it is a movement component which is not longer available, or a bespoke watch case for a unique or interesting movement.
WATCH STRAPS AND FITTINGS
We stock a wide variety of Hirsch Watch Straps to suit all styles of wristwatches. For something more special, custom straps can be ordered made with your own choice of leather, colour and stitching.
We also work with a number of craftspeople who can create bespoke straps or other leather goods to create totally unique styles, fitted to your watch.
